Dr. Cara Chill is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and postdoctoral resident in clinical psychology. Dr. Chill graduated from Adler University in 2023 with her doctorate in clinical psychology. She utilizes an integrative, trauma-informed approach that pulls from evidenced based theoretical orientations. Dr. Chill aims to take an active role in helping to facilitate a space that fosters openness, inclusivity, and a sense of feeling seen and heard.

Get to know Dr. Cara Chill

Dr. Cara (care-uh) Chill graduated from Northwestern University in 2015 with a Master of Science in marriage and family therapy. Dr. Chill holds a Bachelor of Art in psychology with a concentration in human development from DePaul University. Dr. Chill accomplished an additional Master of Art degree and Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology at Adler University. Dr. Chill completed her pre-doctoral internship at a community mental health setting in Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Chill’s area of focus includes working with adults, teens, and couples. For the past eight years she has accumulated experience working in residential and inpatient settings, community mental health, correctional settings, medical settings, and private practices.

Dr. Chill employs an array of evidence-based practices including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Family Systems Theory, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Dr. Chill holds a certification in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Dr. Chill uses LGBQ+ and TGNC Affirmative Practices and strongly believes in cultural humility and providing a space for clients to feel safe to engage in exploration of self, relationships, and systems.
