Jane Kemp, LCSW

Jane is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who earned her master’s in social work from the University of Chicago. Her professional background spans clinical psychology research, hospitals, outpatient clinics, and community health centers. She practices from a holistic, trauma-informed perspective and values empirically supported interventions as much as she does alternative approaches to support healing and facilitating growth. Jane believes in the foundational connection between the mind and body, as well as the systemic and contextual factors that drive behavior and emotional well-being.

As a White, cisgender, straight, neurodivergent woman, Jane acknowledges the privileges and challenges within the intersection of her identities. She lives and practices from an anti-racist, anti-oppressive lens, believing that consistent work, reflection and feedback are essential aspects of her growth as a human and therapist. At the heart of Jane’s work is a deep respect for the therapeutic relationship as a space for curiosity and collaboration, recognizing that trust is built thoughtfully over time. Her approach is grounded in honoring each client’s lived experience, values, and autonomy, with a commitment to creating an inclusive, affirming space for healing, exploration, and self-discovery.

Jane is passionate about working with people struggling with OCD, chronic anxiety, survivors of complex trauma, perfectionism, critical self-talk and people pleasing. She enjoys working with folks across the spectrums of gender and sexuality, and with those of many different constellations of racial, ethnic, spiritual and cultural backgrounds. She has a particular interest in helping clients process and heal from past trauma, relearn how to feel safe in the present, and align with the most authentic version of themselves. She is dedicated to exploring clients’ lived experiences and freely chosen values, using these to individually tailored practice and interventions that create a sense of vitality.

Jane has specialized training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP). While grounded in evidence-based care, Jane also brings immense respect for somatic traditions and integrates practices from yoga into her work, having completed her RYT 200 in 2021. Her integrative approach supports clients in cultivating awareness, processing experiences both verbally and somatically, and developing insight that leads to meaningful, values-aligned change. In sessions, you can expect a compassionate and thorough exploration of your relationship to thoughts, beliefs, memories, emotions, bodily sensations, and “gut feelings.” Jane offers flexible, choice-centered tools for relating to internal experiences in new and empowering ways. With warmth, authenticity, and deep respect for self-determination, she supports clients in cultivating insight and making meaningful change.

Outside of her work, Jane enjoys tending to her garden, listening to and playing music, and deepening her connection to the yogic tradition through practice, community, and study. She cherishes time with her loved ones and with her “Bubs,” a pair of fluffy cats who are her dearest treasures.
